Treatment Programs

Each of the following programs should be considered a top priority in developing and maintaining a green, healthy lawn. Turf care treatments will be made during a series of "Rounds",  which are visits made on a planned schedule throughout the year. These programs will be carried out based on the needs of each individual property that we manage.

    Fertilization & Weed Control

Every lawn requires balanced nutrient additions and effective weed control to maintain its health and aesthetics throughout the year. Utilizing immediate and slow release fertilizers as part of this treatment program will contribute to increased root development, reduced top growth, and less thatch build-up. The FWC Program is considered TriTown's core service and includes essential turf care treatments offered as a baseline program for all customers. During the course of each year, 10-11 treatments  (depending on turf type) will be applied during 6 property visits so that basic turf care needs are met.

    Turf Insect & Disease Control

Turf insects and diseases pose the greatest risk to the health and vitality of your lawn. In order to significantly reduce this risk, our insect and disease control program is the most highly recommended supplemental service offering.  It is recommended to customers who wish to further protect their turf care investment from these inevitable elements of Mother Nature. The IDC Program includes several treatments from late April through late August and is designed to prevent and control grubs, armyworms, ants, brownpatch, gray leaf spot, and many other threats to your turf.

    Poa Control

Poa annua (annual bluegrass) and Poa trivialis (roughstalk poa) are grassy weeds that can be difficult to gain control over. They typically begin germinating very close to fall seeding schedules. This complicates application timing for most pre-emergent chemical applications. Additionally, Poa seeds will continue to germinate throughout winter, often remaining invisible until late winter or early spring. In our experience, the most effective Poa control is gained through applications made in late winter and spring on days when temperatures range from 70-80 degrees.  TriTown Turf's PC Program is a very necessary supplemental option for customers that wish to actively worked toward significant Poa control.  Even with regular treatments, managing these two Poa species on a large scale can still prove challenging due to their seedhead proliferation, growth habits, mowing schedules, and environmental conditions.
